Doods umaray sa pagbawi ng COC; politika ugat daw

“I CAN see politics written all over the case.”

Ito ang reaksyon ng aktor/TV host at tumatakbong kongresista sa San Juan na si Edu Manzano matapos bawiin ng Commission on Elections Second Division ang kanyang certificate of candidacy.

Idinagdag ng kampo ni Manzano na hindi pa naman pinal ang naging desisyon ng Comelec at nakatakda silang maghain ng motion for reconsideration ngayong araw o bukas para iapela ang kaso.

“On the onset, it was discouraging. [Pinagdaanan] ko na ito 21 years ago,” sabi ni Manzano sa isang press conference sa San Juan City, kaugnay naman sa dating kaso noong 1998 matapos kuwestiyunin ang kanyang citizenship nang tumakbo siya at manalong vice mayor sa Makati City.

“And the kind of campaign, regardless of the size of San Juan, it’s been bloody — not in visual terms but talagang binabatikos ako,” dagdag ni Manzano,

Sinabi pa niya na unang binato sa kanya na hindi umano siya residente ng San Juan City.
Hirit naman ni Manzano ay 10 taon na niyang kapitbahay ang mayor ng lungsod.

“Tapos sinasabi ngayon, nang hindi pumalo ‘yung kanilang mga sinasabi, citizenship naman,” ayon pa kay Manzano.

Sinabi niya na ang naghain ng petisyon laban sa kanya ay si Sophia Patricia Gil, campaign manager ng kanyang katunanggali na si Ronaldo Zamora.

“So now, I’m relieving 1998 again,” he said. “And [kung] ako manalo, tiyak iaakyat ‘yan ng aking kalaban sa Korte Suprema. So yes, doon na naman tayo babalik and ‘yun yung magiging final arbiter, siya ang magde-desisyon,” ani Manzano.
