MARAMI umanong Pilipino nurse sa Middle East na lumilipat sa Estados Unidos dahil sa laki ng suweldo.
Ayon kay ACTS-OFW Rep. Aniceto Bertiz III umaabot sa P327,870 ($6,292) ang buwanang sahod ng nurse sa Amerika samantalang sa Middle East ay P150,000 kada buwan. Ang mga “private duty” services naman sa ME ay P75,000-P80,000 kada buwan.
“The desire to transfer – to work and live in America – is particularly strong among Filipino nurses with young children,” ani Bertiz. “In fact, we just came across two Filipino nurses – a husband and a wife with two toddlers – who left the UAE and went straight to America.”
Ang misis ay sumusuweldo umano sa Texas ng $30 kada oras samantalang ang kanyang mister na hindi pa kumukuha ng U.S. licensure examination ay $15 kada oras bilang nursing attendant.
Noong 2018 ay 10,302 Filipino nurses ang kumuha ng U.S. licensure examination. Mas mataas ito ng 32 porsyento kumpara sa 7,791 Philippine-educated nurses na kumuha noong 2017.
