NAGDULOT ng pangamba ang naiwang sunglasses sa P. Burgos st. entrance ng Basilica Minore del Sto. Niño sa Cebu City, ngayong araw.
Sinabi ni Chief Insp. Joemar Pomarejos na alas-8 ng umaga kahapon nang mapansin ng mga security personnel ng basilica ang itim na lalagyan ng sunglasses malapit sa isa sa gate ng simbahan.
Agad na iniulat ng mga security personnel ang insidente sa Waterfront police na nakatalaga sa Cebu City Hall.
Ani Pomarejos, agad na rumesponde ang Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team sa lugar kasama ang tatlong explosive detection dogs (EDD).
“There were no reactions from the dogs so the EOD decided to open the case. There was nothing else inside it but a pair of sunglasses,” sabi ni Pomarejos.
Pinayuhan naman ni Pomarejos ang publiko na maging mapanuri hinggil sa bomb threat.
“The first step when you find an unattended case or bag is to report it to the security personnel,” sabi niya.
Idinagdag ng opisyal na inaasahan din ang pagtaas ng mga kaso ng bomb threat habang papalapit ang Sinulog.
Aniya, dapat ay maging mahinahon ang publiko sakaling maulit ang bomb threat sa Basilica.
