Adamson Falcons dadagitin ang Finals slot vs UP Fighting Maroons

MADAGIT ang unang Finals berth ang tatangkain ng Adamson University Soaring Falcons kontra University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons sa pagsisimula ng UAAP Season 81 men’s basketball Final Four ngayong Sabado sa Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay City.

Maghaharap ang No. 2 seed at may twice-to-beat advantage na Soaring Falcons at No. 3 seed Fighting Maroons ganap na alas-3:30 ng hapon.

Pinapaboran ang Adamson, na nagtapos na may 10-4 kartada, kontra UP sa kanilang semifinals matchup dahil tinalo ng Falcons ang Maroons sa dalawang laro nila sa elimination round.

Nasilat ng Adamson ang UP mula sa game-winning shot ni Sean Manganti sa kanilang first round elims game, 69-68, bago sinundan ng 80-72 pagwawagi sa second round.

Pero hindi puwedeng magkumpiyansa ang Falcons sa laban nila ngayon kontra Maroons na manggagaling sa krusyal na panalo kontra De La Salle University Green Archers na pumatid sa 21 taon na tagtuyot nito sa Final Four.

Maliban kay Manganti sasandalan din ng Adamson sina Jerrick Ahanmisi, Papi Sarr at Jerom Lastimosa para makabalik sa Finals matapos na huling tumuntong dito noong 1992.

Sasandigan naman ng UP ang nangunguna sa season MVP race na si Bright Akhuetie, Juan Gomez de Liano at Paul Desiderio para makahirit ng do-or-die semis game at buhayin ang tsansang makabalik muli sa championship round magmula noong 1986.
