PUP pagagandahin ang takbo

INAPRUBAHAN ng House committee on ways and means ang panukala na gawing National Polytechnic University ang Polytechnic University of the Philippines upang magkaroon ito ng kakayanan na mas maparami ang natutulungan nitong mahihirap na estudyante.

Sa ilalim ng House bill 8292 ni Antique Rep. Paolo Everardo Javier aamyendahan ang Section 10 at Section 19 ng Powers and Duties of the Governing Board ng PUP.

Ang Governing Board ng National Polytechnic University bubuuhin ng Board of Regents na pamumunuan ng Chairperson ng Commission on Higher Education at co-chaired ng pangulo ng unibersidad.

Sa ilalim ng panukalang Section 10 ay papayagan ang Board na tumanggap ng mga donasyon at gamitin ito para sa ikagaganda ng unibersidad.

Sa Section 19 naman nakasaad na ang mga donasyong tatanggapin ng Board ay exempted sa donor’s tax at maaaring ibawas sa babayarang buwis ng nag-donate.

Ang lahat ng academic awards ay gagawin ding exempted sa income tax.

“The PUP visualizes to raise the level of polytechnic state universities and colleges and serve as their guide in developing professional and technical course offerings that are responsive to local and international demand,” ani Javier.
