NAGDEKLARA si Pangulong Duterte ng state of calamity sa Region I (Ilocos), II (Cagayan Valley), III (Central Luzon) at Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) matapos ang pananalasa ng bagyong Ompong.
Ipinalabas ni Duterte ang Proclamation 593 kaugnay ng pagdedeklara ng state of calamity sa apat rehiyon.
“The declaration of state of calamity will hasten the rescue, relief and rehabilitation efforts of the government and the private sector, including humanitarian assistance,” sabi ni Duterte sa Proclamation 593.
Nauna nang inirekomenda ng National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) ang pagsasailalim sa state of calamity sa apat na rehiyon sa harap ng pinsalang dulot ng bagyong Ompong.
“This declaration will provide basis for price control measures which can mitigate the economic impact to affected populations, and effectively provide the National Government, as well as local government units (LGUs), ample latitude in the ulitization of funds for recovery and rehabilitation efforts, on one hand, and delivery of basic needs and services, on the other,” ayon pa sa Proclamation 593.
