NAMATAY ang isang kongresista kaninang umaga matapos itong magkaroon ng ‘massive stroke’.
Si Kabayan Rep. Ciriaco Calalang, 67, ay sumailalim sa surgery sa De Los Santos Medical Center noong Setyembre 17, ayon sa kanyang executive secretary na si Bern Fermin-Tica.
Naulila niya ang tatlong anak na sina Atty. Joseph Ivan Calalang, Carissa Calalang, at Carlo Calalang.
Ang kanyang labi ay ibuburol sa St. Peter Memorial Chapels sa Quezon Ave., Quezon City simula sa Miyerkules.
Si Calalang ay umupo bilang kinatawan ng Kabayan noong Enero 20 kapalit ni Harry Roque na itinalagang spokesman ni Pangulong Duterte.
“Rep. Calalang’s public service as a Congressman was brief but it was time and energies well-spent. He was able to author and co-author 47 house measures and helped raise public awareness about KABAYAN’s platform and his key advocacies on juvenile justice, education, senior citizens, criminal justice, public transportation, and land use,” ani Rep. Ron Salo, ang first nominee ng partido.
