Mga paaralang maaapektuhan binabantayan din
NAGBABANTAY ang Department of Education sa magiging epekto ng bagyong Ompong sa mga paaralan.
Sa datos ng DepEd-Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Service, nasa mga lugar na maaapektuhan ng bagyo ang 76 school divisions, 19,704 eskuwelahan na pinapasukan ng 7.7 milyong estudyante sa elementarya at high school.
Apektado ng bagyo ang 11 rehiyon– Regions I, II, III, IV-A, V, VI, VIII, X, Cordillera Administrative Region, National Capital Region at CARAGA.
“We are bracing for a powerful typhoon, and the need to ensure that our educators, learners, personnel are prepared and safe is just as important as the need to ensure that education continues no matter what. We have mobilized DRRMS and our field offices to make sure that all the efforts for preparedness are in place, and that damage will be minimal,” ani Education Sec. Leonor Briones.
Naghahanda na rin ang DepEd para sa mga lugar na maaaring pagdausan ng klase kapag may nasirang paaralan.
