Sabit sa P50M BI bribery hindi pinayagan mag-bail
IBINASURA ng Sandiganbayan Sixth Division ang hiling ng tatlong akusado sa P50 milyong extortion sa Bureau of Immigration.
Hindi pinagbigyan ng korte ang hiling na makapagpiyansa nina dating BI Associate Commissioners Al Argosino at Michael Robles at ang retiradong pulis na si Wally Sombero.
Ang tatlo ay nahaharap sa kasong plunder.
“The prosecution presented clear and convincing evidence that accused Argosino and Robles received money, in two instances from accused Sombero, as consideration for the release of the Chinese nationals detained at Fontana Leisure Parks and Casino,” saad ng korte.
Binigyan-diin din ng korte ang pahayag ni dating BI intelligence chief Charles Calima na taliwas sa sinabi nina Argosino at Robles na ang pera na kanilang tinanggap ay gagamitin bilang ebidensya laban sa negosyanteng si Jack Lam.
“If the intention was to use the money as evidence in a case against Jack Lam, the amount would have been kept intact,” saad ng korte.
