BAGO tuluyang matapos ang tag-init ay sisiklab ang aksyon sa volleyball sa Imus City, Cavite sa pagsambulat ng kaunaunahang Imus Volleyball League (IVL) sa Sabado, Hunyo 2, sa Imus Sports Complex.
Tampok sa ligang ito ang mga de-kalibreng koponan mula sa secondary schools ng Metro Manila at kalapit lugar.
Mismong si Imus City Mayor Emmanuel L. Maliksi ang nagsabi na magandang challenge ito para sa mga Imus at Cavite na makasagupa ang mga magagaling na volleyball players mula National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) juniors division.
Ang IVL ay bahagi ng priority project nina Mayor Maliksi, Vice Mayor Arnel M. Cantimbuhan at Congressman Alex L. Advincula na kaagapay ng City Sports Development Unit at La Filipina Uy Gongco Group of Companies.
Tampok sa opening ceremony ang parada ng mga university at school officials kasama ang mga atleta mula 20 kasaling koponan.
Ang mga koponang lalahok sa unang edisyon ng IVL ay ang mga sumusunod: University of Santo Tomas (UST), University of Perpetual Help System Dalta (Las Piñas at Molino), St. Francis of Assissi College-Las Piñas, De La Salle-Zobel, Colegio de San Juan de Letran, Agustinian Abbey, Immaculate Conception Academy-Dasmariñas, Hope Christian School, Josiah Christian Values School, Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo National High School, Imus Institute of Science and Technology, Imus Unida Christian School at Unida Christian Colleges.
Ang mga kasaling koponan ay hahatiin sa dalawang (2) bracket sa bawat dibisyon (boys and girls) at maglalaro ng round robin format tournament.
Ang top two (2) teams sa bawat bracket ay uusad sa semifinal round kung saan dalawa rito ay maglalaban para sa championship.
