DEDMA lamang ang Palasyo sa nakatakdang imbestigasyon ng Senado laban kay Solicitor General Jose Calida kaugnay ng security agency ng kanyang pamilya na nakakuha ng mahigit P150 milyong kontrata mula sa iba’t ibang ahensiya ng gobyerno.
Sinabi ni Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque na desisyon ng Senado kung itutuloy pa rin ang imbestigasyon sa kabila naman ng naunang pahayag ni Pangulong Duterte na hindi niya sisibakin si Calida.
“We can’t tell Senate what they want to do. They can do so, if they wish. The President said he will not fire Calida which sustains my earlier legal view that SolGen Calida is no guilty of conflict of interest,” dagdag ni Roque.
Idinagdag ni Roque na magsasagawa na rin ng imbestigasyon ang Department of Justice kaugnay ng isyu.
“I understand that the Secretary of Justice (Menardo Guevarra) has relented and has agreed to open formal investigations which I think is a better course of action para malinaw na once and for all kung nagkaroon ng conflict of interest,” ayon pa kay Roque.
