IBINASURA ng Department of Justice (DOJ) ang kasong rebelyon na inihain ng mga pulis at military laban sa biyuda ng napatay na lider ng teroristang grupong Maute na si Mohammad Khayyam “Otto” Maute.
Sa isang resolusyon, inabswelto ng DOJ sa kaso si Najiya Dilangalen Karon-Maute dahil sa kawalan ng sapat na ebidensiya.
Inaresto si Najiya noong Enero 23, 2018 sa Cotabato City.
Inakusahan si Najiya ng Philippine National Police (PNP) Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) at Armed Forces of the Philippines-The Judge Advocate General (AFP-TJAG) ng pagtulong sa mga miyembro ng Maute.
Ibinase ang kaso na inihain laban kay Najiya sa testimonya ng isang Martino Elyana, na nakita niya siya Najiya at kanyang mister na naghatid ng pagkain sa mga miyembro ng Maute sa Bato Mosque noong Hunyo 2017.
“Applying such ruling to the present case, we find that there is no probable cause to indict respondent Najiya Maute for rebellion. Her act of bringing food with her husband are not overt acts of rebellion,” sabi ng resolusyon ng DOJ.
Pinirmahan ni Senior Assistant State Prosecutor Peter Ong, chairperson ng DOJ Task Force Marawi, ang resolusyon.
