Beking stylist ng sikat na aktres walang isang salita; pangakong napako!
AS IN every start of the year, marami sa atin do practice making a long list of New Year’s resolutions. For the less informed, however, they mistake these what-to-dos/what-not-to-dos for wishes they want come true sa pagpasok ng taon.
Ang totoo, ang resolusyon is like a promise to ourselves as to the dos and don’ts which we—in most instances, fail to keep. Parang lip service lang ang peg. We don’t follow what we preach. Sa mas gasgas ding pananalita, we don’t walk our talk.
New Year’s resolutions for the irresolute? Mas mabuti pang huwag na tayong gumawa ng listahan ng mga ito if we can’t keep them. Huwag tayong nangangako kung hindi rin lang natin kayang tuparin.
Speaking of which, while we want to leave the year 2017 behind us, we’re still being bugged by this nagging memory. Tungkol ito sa stylist ng isang sikat na young actress (YA) from an equally popular onscreen-offscreen loveteam.
For countless times had we been supportive of this YA in print. Hindi lang dito namin siya naisulat, even in our column in a widely circulated broadsheet ay lumanding din ang aming unpaid pralala tungkol sa kanya and her thriving business.
Pero ni anino’y hindi pa namin nakita nang personal, but we must admit she has earned our admiration in so many ways. Tanging ang kanyang stylist ang aming kausap through text with us even eagerly asking about a myriad of stuff worth writing about her YA-boss.
Going back to promises made. One time ay nag-text ang stylist, iiwan na lang daw niya somewhere ang small token of appreciation ng YA. We knew the exact spot where the stylist promised to drop off ‘yung ipinagyayabang niyang token.
Ibinilin pa nga namin sa taong nakaposte sa lugar na ‘yon, only to find out that nary a shadow of that small token of gratitude lurked somewhere.
Napaisip tuloy kami, “OPM (Oh, Promise Me) din pala ang baklang ‘yon!” Okey lang, we knew better next time. We had the stylist’s contact number stricken off our phonebook.
‘Di pa kami nakuntento, we blocked his Facebook account. So, was that it? Ay, ang hitad, meron pa palang isang FB account, which we later blocked, too.
Ang mas nakakairita pa, nagsumbong ang stylist sa isang common individual. Ano ‘to, kailangan pa bang idulog sa mga kinauukulan ang pamba-block namin sa kanya?
That was the straw that broke the proverbial camel’s back. Okey na sana, we would have dismissed it as a totally senseless issue, ang kaso’y kulang na lang humingi ng saklolo ang baklitang stylist sa mga lobo’t bampira sa kanyang text/call-a-friend distress signal.
Imposibleng hindi ito mabasa ng taong ‘yon. If not, someone else will surely pass this item on to him.
Pero ito lang ang nais naming iparating sa stylist ng YA, and he had better be prepared to answer it with intelligence.
Hindi kami materyosong tao. Worse, hindi kami P.G. (patay-gift, as you may put it) sa mga token. But we’re appreciative and we show our appreciation toward the giver.
