Hapilon tumira sa apartment sa Marawi sa 3 buwan bago ang paglusob

PATULOY na iniimbestigahan ng militar ang tatlong may-ari ng tatlong palapag na aparment building sa Barangay Malutlut, kung saan tumira si Hapilon tatlong buwan bago ang paglusob sa Marawi noong Mayo 23.
“The investigation will be handled by the police. But we will ensure their rights will not be violated,” sabi ni Col. Romeo Brawner Jr., deputy commander ng Joint Task Group Ranao.
Ayon kay Supt. Ebra Moxir, city police chief, na nagpakita na ang mga may-ari ng apartment para lisinin ang kanilang pangalan. Tumanggi naman ang mga ito na pangalanan.

“They told our investigators they had no idea Hapilon was there,” sabi ni Moxir. “I advised them to also clear their names with the military.”
Idinagdag ng pulisya na pag-aari ang apartment building ng isang empleyado ng Bureau of Internal Revenue sa Cotabato City.
Inamin ng isang miyembro ng Special Action Force (SAF), na tumangging magpabanggit ng pangalan, na dalawang bahay lamang ang layo ng kanyang tinitirhan sa apartment, ngunit hindi niya nalaman na nakatira roon si Hapilon.

“I really didn’t have an idea that he was near,” sabi ng miyembro ng SAF, na ayon sa kanya ay dalawang araw siyang naipit bago siya nakalabas.
Sinabi ni Amenola Gandaw, isang kagawad ng barangay na kabilang ang misis ni Hapilon at anim-anyos na anak na lalaki sa mga unang namatay nang sumiklab ang lababan.
Idinagdag ni Gandaw na napansin na nila na “a lot of people were coming in and out in those two units.”
“But we had no idea that he [Hapilon] was there,” ayon kay Gandaw.
