DINUKOT ang anim na Vietnamese national ng mga armadong kalalakihan matapos lusubin ang isang banyagang sasakyang pandagat sa Basilan Biyernes ng madaling araw.
Sinabi ni Major Filemon Tan Jr., spokesperson ng Western Mindanao Command na nakatanggap sila ng ulat mula sa Philippine Coast Guard na inatake ng mga armadong suspek ang MV Royal 16 malapit sa Sibago Island, Lamitan, Basilan.
“Immediately, the Coast Guard advised another vessel, MV Lorcon Iloilo, to render necessary assistance,” sabi ni Tan.  Idinagdag ni Tan na ipinaalam ng MV Lorcon Iloilo sa Coast Guard Zamboanga na isang crew ng MV Royal 16 ang nasugatan.
