P50M nagastos na sa kakanselahing brgy election

Nagastos na ng Commission on Elections ang P50 milyon pondo nito na nakalaan para sa Barangay at Sangguniang Kabataan elections sa Oktobre.
Sa pagdinig ng House committee on appropriations, sinabi ni Comelec chairman Andres Bautista na P6 bilyon ang pondo para sa naturang halalan na nais na ipagpaliban ng Kongreso sa susunod na taon.
“Comelec has a P6 billion budget for the Barangay and SK election. Right now we have spent about about P50 million. So by and large that amount is intact,” ani Bautista.
Ang nalalabing halaga ay gagamitin umano ng Comelec sa 2017 kung maisasabatas ang pagnanais ng Kongreso na ilipat ang eleksyon.
Ang P50 milyon ay nagamit umano sa pagiimprenta ng bahagi ng 85 milyong balota na kailangan sa Oktobre.
Sa pagpapaliban ng halalan, sinabi ni Bautista na hihingi sila ng dagdag na budget para sa pagrerehistro ng mga maaari ng bumoto sa Oktobre 2017.
“Perhaps we will need to make some adjustments…We will need also additional funds for registration. There will be a new registration for next year’s Barangay and SK polls.”
