PUMANAW na noong Miyerkules ng gabi sa edad na 92 ang beteranong head coach na si Virgilio “Baby” Dalupan.
Kinumpirama ito kahapon ng dating PBA player na si Ricardo Brown sa kanyang Facebook page.
“A true iconic, Philippine Basketball legend like no other left us all last evening. You can rest in peace now, Coach,” saad ni Brown, na naglaro kay Dalupan sa koponan ng Great Taste noong dekada 1980.
Nag-post din si Brown ng lumang picture nila ni Dalupan.
“This photo is the last time I saw Coach Baby at his home in Manila. My last words to him were simple and real: ‘Thank you for everything you did for me. Love you always, Coach Baby. Take good care and God bless.’”
Hinatid ni Dalupan ang University of the East sa 12 UAAP kampeonato. Nagwagi rin siya ng 15 PBA titles, siyam sa Crispa, lima sa Great Taste/Presto, at isa sa Purefoods.
