MAGBABALIK sa kanyang puwesto si dating Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) chairman William ‘‘Butch’’ Ramirez. Kinumpirma kahapon ni Ramirez na tinaggap niya ang pusisyon na inalok sa kanya ni incoming President Rodrigo Duterte para pamunuan ang sports development program ng bansa.
Nagsilbi bilang PSC chair ang Dabawenyo na si Ramirez mula 2005 hanggang 2009. “There’s an instruction from the President that we have to go to the provinces and the communities to identify more talents,’’ sabi ni Ramirez na nakatakdang hahalili sa puwestong babakantehin ni Richie Garcia sa Hulyo 1.
Makikipagpulong din si Ramirez kay Garcia sa PSC administration office sa Hunyo 28 para pag-usapan ang maayos na turnover. Ayon din kay Ramirez, si Presidential special assistant Christopher “Bong’’ Go ang pormal na maghahayag kung sinu-sino ang mauupo sa PSC board. May balitang si basketball legend Ramon Fernandez ang isa sa mga commissioners.
