PINUTOL ng De La Salle University ang paghahari ng Ateneo Lady Eagles matapos nitong patiklupin ang huli sa game 3 ng Season 78 Finals ng UAAP women’s volleyball tournament, sa score na 19-25, 25-21, 25-16, 25-16.
Naiuwi ng Lady Spikers ang ika-siyam nitong women’s volleyball championship, at una sa loob ng tatlong taon kung saan sila pinauwing luhaaan ng Lady Eagles.
Sa series opener, hindi na pinaporma ng La Salle ang Ateneo. Nakabawi ang Ateneo, sa pangunnguna ng MVP ng liga na si Alyssa Valdez, sa ikalawang paghaharap.
Ikinagulat ng marami ang performance ni Kim Dy, na siyang tumapos sa laro nang atakihin nito ang Ateneo ng anyang “killer spike”.
