MAKALIPAS ang mahigit isang taon na pagkaka-disband bunga ng kaguluhan sa liderato at pagkakagulo sa mga miyembro ay unti-unti nang nabubuo muli ang pambansang koponan sa bowling.

Ito ay matapos ihayag ng bagong talaga na Philippine Bowling Congress (PBC) coaching staff ang 20 katao na siyang bubuo sa inisyal na pambansang koponan na nagnanais ibalik muli sa Pilipinas ang kahusayan at kasikatan sa larangan ng bowling.

Mismong sina national head coach Rafael “Paeng” Nepomuceno at assistant coaches Engelberto “Biboy” Rivera, Jojo Canare, Johnson Cheng at Rey Reyes ang nagpahayag sa listahan sa kanilang sama-samang pagdalo sa isinasagawa na POC-PSC Sports Science Seminar Series 8 and 9 ang listahan ng bubuo sa koponan.

“We already had the initial list of players that will compose our team,” sabi ng 59-anyos at 4-time World Cup champion na si Nepomuceno. “However, they will be trimmed down to six each per team that will compose the men’s and women’s squads.”

Ang 11 kataong men’s team ay binubuo nina Enzo Hernandez, Ivan Malik, Jason Tubid, JR Tan, JP Macatula, Kenneth Chua, Marky Del Carmen, Marvin Tan, Nikko Olaybar, Raul Miranda at Kevin Cu.

Ang siyam kataong women’s team ay kinabibilangan naman nina Alexis Sy,  Leah Hernandez, Dianne Coronacion, Krisha Tabora, Lara Posadas, Liza Del Rosario, Liza Clutario, Badesh Arle at Rica Macatula.

Target ng PBC na sumabak sa Asian Championships at World Singles na gaganapin ngayong taon habang nakatuon ito sa susunod na taon na Southeast Asian Games sa Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
