Edu naalarma sa sunud-sunod na paglabas ng sex video sa social media
NAAALARMA na si Edu Manzano sa sunud-sunod na pagkalat ng mga video at photo scandal ng mga kilalang male celebrities sa social media.
Nagtataka ang aktor-TV host kung bakit patuloy pa ring tumataas ang cybercrime cases sa bansa sa kabila ng kampanya ng mga otoridad laban dito. Nakakatakot na pangitain daw ito lalo na sa mga pri-badong indibidwal na nabibiktima nang walang kalaban-laban.
“It is very unfortunate that modern technology gadgets are being commonly used to commit crimes that debase and steal the dignity of human persons, especially among women and children who are mostly subjected to abuse and exploitation,” ani Edu na tumatakbong senador para sa nalalapit na May elections.
“We have more than enough laws to curb cybercrimes and yet, due to our easy access to internet and the availability of smart phones, cybersex crimes are being indiscriminately committed right before our noses,” dagdag pa ng ama ni Luis Manzano.
Base sa 2014-2015 Cybercrime Report ng Office of Cybercrime-Department of Justice, tumaas pa ang bilang ng cybercrime cases sa bansa nitong nakaraang taon, 11% dito ay mga violation ng Republic Act No. 9995, o ang Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009.
“The go-vernment’s figures include only cases reported to proper authorities. There are se-veral empirical and anecdotal evidence that show that most of these cybercrime cases remain largely unreported,” hirit pa ni Edu.
Dagdag pa nito may a-nim pang batas ang maaa-ring gamitin para mas mapagtibay pa ang paglaban sa cybercrime cases, “It is time to review these laws to stop the continued rise of cybercrimes in order to make them more responsive and attuned to the technological advances and put behind bars syndicates and indivi-duals who prey on their hapless victims.
“The global cybersex business has become a billion-dollar industry at the expense of tens of thousands of girls from impo-verished communities who are being recruited and forcibly sold for online trafficking, pornography and sexual exploitation,” aniya pa.
