Mahaba-haba rin ang naging kwentuhan namin nang malapit sa puso naming reigning movie and TV queen noong 90s na si Angelu de Leon sa ginanap na birthday dinner niya for her family, relatives, closest friends sa showbiz and entertainment writers sa bagong bukas na restaurant nila ng kanyang hubby na si Papa Wowie Rivera, ang Spice & Cleaver sa Estancia Mall, Capitol Commons sa Pasig City last Saturday.

Gaya ng sinabi ni Angelu, hindi talaga siya mahilig mag-host ng sariling birthday party. But this time, she just wants to pay homage kung saan siya nagmula at nakasama niya when she was still a newbie in showbiz. Naging publicist kami ng aming friendship at kapwa manunulat na si Ricky Calderon in one of Angelu and Bobby Andrews movies sa Viva Films noon.

Na-witness din namin ang debut party ni Angelu noon na isa sa mga pinakabonggang celebrity debuts during the ‘90s na ginanap sa Shangri-La Hotel sa Makati.

Come to think of it, that was 18 years ago na rin pala kasi 36 na ngayon si Angelu. And next year, turn naman ng eldest daughter niya (kay Joko Diaz) na si Nicole na mag-debut.

Gusto ni Angelu na bigyan na lang ng isang brand new car si Nicole on her 18th birthday. Pero mas mukhang feel ni Nicole ang magkaroon ng debut party.

And speaking of Joko, hindi niya raw nakikita ang father ni Nicole. Although wala naman na silang gap or anything. Syempre, iwas na rin si Angelu para na rin sa kanyang hubby na si Papa Wowie.

Busy ngayon si Angelu sa teleserye niya sa GMA with her perennial partner na si Bobby Andrews, ang Buena Familia. Thankful si Angelu sa GMA7 dahil sa patuloy na pagbibigay sa kanya ng mga show at pawing magaganda raw ang roles niya, huh!
