Robin napilit tumakbong senador sa 2019?

Ronnie Carrasco III - August 23, 2018 - 12:30 AM

INI-RELEASE na ng PDP-Laban through Sen. Koko Pimentel ang kanilang senatorial slate.

However, the recommended lineup has yet to earn the President’s stamp of approval.

Kung hindi naman magbabago ay as is ang listahan, kung saan kapansin-pansin ang ilang showbiz celebrities na pasok sa 24-man team. Kabilang dito si former Sen. Lito Lapid, Freddie Aguilar, Monsour del Rosario at ihuhuli namin—who’s our focal point here—si Robin Padilla.

Based on Pimentel’s statement ay aware na ang mga ito—including the 20 other senators-wannabe—na napipisil sila ng partido. Obviously, alam ni Robin that he’ll set out to a raging political battle na malayo sa kanyang protagonist’s role in his slambang movies.

Kung hindi kami nagkakamali, minsan nang naringgan si Robin—quoted to have even said—na wala sa kanyang scheme of things na pumalaot sa pulitika. Aniya, politics is the least of his concerns.

Malabo mang mag-Number One si Robin, tiyak he won’t be at the precarious tail end in the race which is normally the subject of endless, impassioned complaints.

Kasama ni Robin sa partido si dating MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino na, noong May 2016 elections sa pagka-Senador, ay nalaglag pa sa Top 12 with former DOJ Secretary Leila de Lima taking the spot.

For certain, this won’t be the likely scenario. Sikat si Robin. Visible. Mabango sa mga kababayan nating nakinabang ng kanyang tulong. May stronghold sa mgakapatid nating Muslim.

To top it all, masasabing may fan base din ang kanyang asawang si Mariel Rodriquez.

Robin can also tap his family. Yes, his one not necessarily big family na binubuo nina Kylie, partner nitong si Aljur at ang kanilang anak who are certified crowd-drawers pagdating sa kampanya.

But again, we will go back to Robin’s previous and consistent take on politics. Anyare???

Still on the party’s lineup.

Huwag lang “barilin” ng Pangulo ang listahan to accommodate a left-out candidate ay isa kami sa mga nag-rejoice dahil wala roon ang pangalan ni PCOO ASec Mocha Uson. Kaswal na sagot ni Pimentel as to why, “Basta wala siya.”

Oo naman, Sen. Koko, not because Mocha is with the PDu30 administration who’s assigned to educate the Pinoys on federalism ay obligado na siyang ampunin ng partido.

Mocha’s embarrassing record—her tarnished image notwithstanding—speaks for itself.

Also worth our ounce of attention ay ang pangalan ni Mon Tulfo. Limitado lang ang aming alam sa veteran broadcaster na ito, but all we know is that galit siya sa pagkakasangkot ng kanyang mga kapatid sa DOT-Pronto-PTV 4 anomaly.

Not the typical immediate kin na kunsintidor sa maling gawain ng kadugo. Ang tama ay tama, same with a wrongdoing.

Mon’s biggest setback, however, in his senatorial bid is his three siblings’ involvement in the fiasco.

Ito ang kanyang disadvantage losing sight of his noteworthy image anchored on grit and credibility.
