San Miguel Beermen tutumbukin ang Finals berth

TATAPUSIN na ng San Miguel Beermen ang best-of-five semifinals series nito kontra Star Hotshots sa 2017 PBA Commissioner’s Cup ngayong gabi sa Mall of Asia Arena sa Pasay City.

Lamang ang Beermen 2-1 at isang panalo na lang ang kailangan nito para makabalik sa Finals. Ang San Miguel Beer ay nagkampeon din sa unang conference ng season na Philippine Cup.

Ganap na alas-7 ng gabi sasagupain ng llamadong Beermen ang delikadong Hotshots.

Huling kinubra ng Beermen ang 111-110 panalo mula sa stepback triple ni Marcio Lassiter na pinatama pa sa board sa huling 1.3 segundo ng laro upang makuha ang importanteng 2-1 bentahe sa maigsing serye.

“Suwerte lang talaga kami,” sabi ni San Miguel Beer coach Leo Austria, na pilit pananatiliin ang bihirang pagkakataon na makamit ang mahirap isagawa na paghablot sa tatlong nakatayang korona o grand slam na huling nakamit naman ng koponan noong 1989 habang ginigiyahan ni Norman Black.

Nabigo ang Beermen sa Game One, 105-109, pero bumawi ito sa Game Two, 77-76.

Muling  sasandigan ng Beermen ang import nito na si Chris Rhodes na nagtala ng 36 puntos, pitong rebounds, apat na assists, tatlong steals at tatlong blocks sa Game Three habang si Chris Ross ay nag-ambag naman ng 27 puntos, tig-walong rebounds at assists, at tatlong steals.

Puntirya naman ng  Star na makahirit ng Game Five rubber match sa Linggo.

Sasandalan ni Star head coach Chito Victolero sina Paul Lee, Mark Barroca, Justin Melton at import na si Ricardo Ratliffe.
