Miguel Zubiri

Freedom of Information Bill: I am for it. Isa ako sa mga author non.
K to 12  program:    I know its controversial but im in favor. Im a product of private school kaya medyo matagal.   …Kung masyadong bata ang high school graduate, talagang makikita mo ang diperensiya sa 15-year old sa 17 year freshman.

Contractualization:  Hindi dapat ang contractualization.  Kawawa naman ang mga taong ito (contractuals).  Many of them don’t receive their benefits, no security of tenure.

Legislated wage:  Ang akin sana at least dapat maging P500  ang minimum wage because if we really want to make a difference in people’s  lives, i- increase ang minimum wage. It has to be  a drastic increase.

Divorce:  Not in favor.  Pero dapat i-loosen ang rules ng annulment. My sister got her marriage and it was very expensive. The problem with divorce I don’t want the type of divorce that can create dysfunctional family na tipong mag-asawa tayo next week sa susunod na buwan hiwalay na tayo.

Same-sex marriage:  You know i have a lot of friends na  LGBT (lesbians, gay, bisexual and transgeder). This is very controversial. Im still not sold out to this idea. You can have BF, GF with  the same sex, no problem but not in marriage.

Anti-Epal bill:  Ok ako diyan.

Insurgency:  Government has  a major responsibility to take so that we can eradicate this insurgency. If we have an honest to  goodness anti-poverty program, rebels won’t stay in the mountains.

Anti-poverty programs: My proposal is universal health care, at least 40 million  Filipinos need to receive universal health care wala silang babayaran, style France, Australia and Spain.  This is one way we can help this people move forward. ang problema kasi ng mga kababayan natin lalo na ang mga mahihirap they can’t do anything to save their loved ones.

Mining: I’m personally not in favor of mining of key diversity areas like Palawan.   I am not totally  against mining.  If we will allow this, we should increase taxation of mining companies because they are earning billions of dollars.  We will agree if the income will go to the housing facilities, health care and education of those people who work under them.

GMA:  Hardworking

Pangulong Aquino: Honest

Renato Corona:  Passionate

Manny Pacquiao:  Courageous

Sen. Miriam Santiago:  Intelligent

Sen. Koko Pimentel: Determined

Vina Morales:  Talented

BANDERA:  Magkano ang  iyong net worth?

Zubiri:  P44 million

B: May dollar account ka ba?

Zubiri: I have no dollar account.  My wife has peso accounts and  I can sign a waiver anytime.

B:  Ilan ang bahay mo?

Zubiri: Isa sa Makati at isa sa Calatagan… with my farm.

Zubiri: Land cruiser; Fortuner; my wife has a Starex.  I have no sports car.

B: Do you own guns?

Zubiri:  Im a gun collector. Pistol?  I have a .45 I had this when Im 16 years old.  I am into sports shooting.

I am close to his father; Gwen Garcia, because aside from me and Sen. Koko Pimentel, she’s the other candidate who hails from VisMin; Gringo Honasan-one of the descent men I have known. (laughs)
