Legarda who’s one of the richest senators sa bansa, tapos pagbibiyahiin nila si Nora on Economy. Stupid, di ba?
Anyway, last Saturday ay nag-throw ng birthday party ang mga Bicolano friends and fans ni Mama Guy for her sa Giligan’s Tomas Morato, Q.C. We were there at sobrang puno ang venue – talagang mararamdaman mo ang init ng pagmamahal ng kaniyang fans sa nag-iisang Superstar natin.
Some guest performers joined her – nandoon sina Gerald Santos, Ken Chan, RJ Agustin, Inang Willy Jones, and many more. Some sang for her – enjoy na enjoy kaming lahat.
Kasama namin sa table sina Mama Guy, John Rendez, award-winning scriptwriter Ricky Lee, ang business manager ng Superstar na si Kuya Boy Palma, Ronald Carballo, my dear friend Marvin Maralit, among others.
Nandon din si Direk Adolf Alix na merong gagawing movie with Mama Guy in the next days. Nakakasa na ang project nila.
Ronald Carballo will also direct her in one major project.
Nagkita rin kami nina kaibigang Alex Brosas na isa ring dyed in the wool Noranian like us. I also saw Eddie Littlefield, Fernan Sucalit, Oghie Ignacio, Linda Cabuhayan, Matt Garcia, among others.
And here comes the good news – ang pelikulang “Taklub” ni Mama Guy ay nakakuha ng special prize from the jury dahil ito ang napili ng international critics bilang Best Film. Special award pa lang po iyon, yung major awards ay yet to be announced.
Pero merong bansag ngayon ang international press and jury kay Mama Guy – hindi raw siya dapat lang tinatawag na Superstar sa Philippines – she must be called the Grand Dame of Philippine Cinema – kahilera raw nina Ms. Meryll Streep. Kakatuwa, di ba?
Belated happy birthday, Mama Guy. Thanks a million. Mwah!
