Korina tatapusin ang pag-aaral kaya nagpaalam na sa TV Patrol

Nag-file pala ng temporary leave of absence mula sa ABS-CBN ang multi awarded broadcaster na si Korina Sanchez mula sa lahat ng kanyang mga news work para sa susunod na taon.
Tatlong buwang mawawala si Korina, simula Enero hanggang Marso 2015. Kailangan kasi niyang mag-concentrate sa isang importanteng proyekto para sa kanyang pag-aaral, requiring a trip abroad.
Kasalukuyang nag-aaral si Korina ng Master of Arts in Journalism sa Ateneo de Manila University at nag-aapply din siya ng simultaneous course sa London School of Economics kung saan kailangan niyang bumiyahe sa Europe.
“I’ve talked about this with network management since middle of last year. The bosses were all for it. My advanced studies have taken the backseat for too long and if I don’t do this now, I may never. Kaya nga pinagsasabay-sabay ko na. It’s not easy but I’m optimistic I can do this,” ayon kay Korina.
Kinumpirma naman ng business manager ni Korina na si Girlie Rodis na nag-file sila ng leave of absence para sa katapusan ng taong ito ngunit baka mapaaga pa ito depende sa travel plans ni Koring para sa pagbabakasyon sa Pasko.
“I encouraged Korina to do this because education is important at any stage of one’s life. And she’s been planning this for so long. I’m happy she finally decided to take this seriously,” ayon kay Ms. Girlie.
Ayon naman sa ABS-CBN News Head na si Ging Reyes ang pag-tanggap ng leave of absence request ni Korina. “Yes it is a leave of absence of three months which management has granted to Korina. The company values higher education as it is always a plus among our ranks.
“Many in our stable have also taken leaves of absence to pursue further studies. When they come back, there is always better output. We wish Korina the best of the experience”, sabi ni Ms. Ging.
Habang on leave si Ate Koring mula sa kanyang daily live newscast, ipagpapatuloy pa rin niya ang kanyang weekly magazine program na Rated K at ang kanyang occasional, award-winning interview show na Up Close And Personal sa ANC. Babalik din si Korina para sa coverage ng pagbisita ni Pope Francis sa bansa sa Enero, 2015.
Maraming taon nang kino-cover ni Korina ang Vatican at sinundan at tinutukan niya niya ang Papacy ni Pope Francis mula ng siya ay maupo sa pagka-Santo Papa.
