NGAYONG tabla na ang serye’t mas umikli, maghahapit nang todo ang San Mig Coffee at Air21 sa Game Three ng best-of-five semifinals series ng PLDT Home TVolution PBA Commissioner’s Cup mamayang alas-5 ng hapon sa Smart Araneta Coliseum sa Cubao, Quezon City.

Nakakuha ng matinding numero ang Mixers buhat sa mga second stringers sa ikalawang yugto at tinalo ang Express, 82-75, sa Game Two noong Huwebes. Nakuha ng Air21 ang Game One, 103-100.

“We have not gotten momentum with that win in Game Two. To gain momentum, you must have a series of wins. All we did was to stop Air21’s momentum,” ani San Mig Coffee coach Tim Cone.

Ito’y patungkol sa pangyayaring napigil ng Mixers ang three-game winning streak ng Express. Bago nanaig sa Game One, tinalo ng Air21 nang dalawang beses ang San Miguel Beer sa quarterfinals kung saan pumasok ito bilang seventh seed.

Ang San Mig Coffee, na naghahangad na marating ang Finals sa ikatlong sunod na kumperensiya at mapanalunan ang ikatlong sunod na titulo, ay nanalo laban sa Alaska Milk sa quarterfinals, 2-1.

Sa salpukan ng imports sa Game Two ay nanaig si James Mays ng San Mig Coffee nang magtapos ito nang may 25 puntos, 23 rebounds, limang assists, isang steal at isang blocked shot.

Nakatulong ni Mays sina Peter June Simon, Joe Devance at rookie Justin Melton na pawang nagtapos nang may  double figures sa scoring.

Si Wesley Witherspoon ay gumawa lang ng walong puntos bukod sa anim na rebounds, tatlong assists at isang steal para sa Air21.

Ang Express ay binuhat ni Paul Asi Taulava na nagtala ng 21 puntos, 18 rebounds at isang assist. Si Sean Anthony, na gumawa ng 29 puntos sa Game One, ay nalimita sa walong puntos.
