Cristine sanay na sanay maging kabit; Jake panira sa mga bading
As to acting, we may not like the personality of Ara’s sister but we always write how good she is in acting. It’s so hard to pull off her mistress character na may pathos and yet she did it with aplomb hindi ka magagalit sa kaniya totally.
At one point, sa kaniya ka pa nga maaawa dahil biktima din siya ng situation. Alice is just as good and si Andi, puwede na rin. Good cameo sina Pilar Pilapil bilang ina ni Alice, Dina, Thou Reyes bilang baklang assistant ng sister ni Ara and the fast talking secretary of Emman.
Now for the parts we don’t like, we start with the acting of Gabby and the character of Jake. Gabby is definitely gorgeous and luscious to look at on screen.
He aged perfectly well and he is more daring ngayon we’re surprised. Kasabayan namin si Gabby and we remember how hesitant he was in his younger years even to wear briefs but in “When The Love Is Gone”, he wore a skimpy briefs na kitang kita ang umbok na parang lumalaki habang nakikipaghalikan sa sister ni Ara sa swimming pool.
Of course we know it’s not his butt in the climactic scene but we have enough of his bukol not to complain on this. Ang problema ni Gabby, on and off ang energy niya sa acting. Calm, he’s good.
Agitated, he’s spewing fire and ice in tenth degree umu-over siya we are reminded of another actor na kahit “five” lang ang hingin sa acting level, 10 nang 10 ang binibigay.
As to Jake, while wala kaming problema sa acting niya although inconsistent din ito, it’s his gay character that we don’t like. Fiercely gay and proud kami and we don’t like gay characters na nagkokontrabida in the movie however important it is dahil nakakatulong ito sa bad image ng mga bakla na manipulative, cunning and devious and we don’t like that.
One remorseful ending scene will not justify anything his character did throughout the movie. But then nitpicking lang ito in an otherwise good movie naman so palalampasin namin ito in support of the project.
Tomorrow it will be on its second week so hopefully good word of mouth will extend the showing of the movie for you to catch it before the love and the screening is gone.
