Batang Quiapo ni Coco Martin dapat daw turuan ng Comelec sa election laws

HINDI nagustuhan ng isang election lawyer ang ilang eksena sa hit Kapamilya action-drama series na “Batang Quiapo” na pinagbibidahan ni Coco Martin.
Feeling ng abogadong si Romulo Macalintal kailangang gumawa ng aksyon ang Commission on Elections (Comelec) upang “i-educate” ang mga taong involved sa naturang serye tungkol sa isyu ng ng “premature campaigning.”
Lumabas ang reaksyon ni Macalintal hinggil sa produksyon ng “Batang Quiapo” matapos magsalita si Comelec Commissioner George Garcia tungkol sa pag-amin ng isang kandidata sa “Sexy Babes” segment ng “It’s Showtime” na wala siyang knowledge about Comelec.
Inimbitahan ni Garcia ang contestant na si Heart Aquino sa tanggapan ng Comelec at binigyan siya ng tour kasabay ng pagbabahagi sa kanya ng mga duties and responsibilities ng ahensiya.
Ayon kay Macalintal, kailangan din daw kausapin ng chaiperson ng Comelec ang producer at ang iba pang taong involved sa “Batang Quiapo” partikular na ang episode last March 5.
Sa naturang eksena, ipinakita ang mayor ng Manila played by Albert Martinez, na nakikipagtalo sa kanyang vice mayor na ginagampanan ni Chanda Romero, tungkol sa umano’y “premature campaigning.”

“Chairman Garcia has repeatedly explained that there is no law prohibiting premature campaigning in the country,” ang bahagi ng statement ni Macalintal.
“For sure, Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna would not like any of her officials to be depicted as one who is ignorant of election laws since most of the election-related scenes in that episode were actually shot at the premises of Manila City Hall.
“Thus, like that beauty contestant, the producer of Batang Quiapo and Martinez should also be invited by the Comelec to its office to ‘educate’ them of election laws and rules, especially now that the new storyline of Batang Quiapo has shifted to election as its main attraction,” ang bahagi pa ng pahayag ni Macalintal.
Bukod dito, sinabi rin ng election lawyer na sana’y mapaalalahan ng Comele, ang scriptwriter at producer ng show na, “should be reminded of the gun ban rules considering the massive display of high power firearms and ammunitions and gun fights scenes in most of its episodes.
“It is the responsibility of Batang Quiapo producers to see to it that its viewers get the right and correct information about our election rules so as not to cause any confusion among the electorate on such an important and sensitive issue and other election-related matters,” aniya pa.
