Maris Racal-Anthony Jennings scandal hot pa rin; Atty. Joji Alonso may nilinaw
NILINAW ng Quantum Films producer at Star Magic legal counsel na si Atty. Joji Alonso na hindi siya ang abogado nina Maris Racal at Anthony Jennings.
Nag-viral at umalma ang maraming netizens sa Facebook post ni Atty. Joji tungkol sa kinasasangkutang iskandalo ng Star Magic loveteam na sina Maris at Anthony matapos ilantad ng ex-girlfriend ng aktor na si Jamela “Jam” Villanueva ang umano’y ginawang panloloko sa kanya.
Nakachikahan ng ilang members ng press ang abogada at film producer sa grand mediacon ng Metro Manila Film Festival 2024 entry niyang “Espantaho” na pinagbibidahan ni Judy Ann Santos.
Ayon kay Atty. Joji, personal legal opinion niya ang ipinost niya sa FB about Maris and Anthony at hindi konektado sa pagiging Star Magic in-house legal counsel niya.

Base sa Facebook post ni Atty. Joji, “Assuming that all the screenshots are legit, the fact remains that Maris and Anthony have committed NO crime. Their actions may be regarded as morally wrong, but they were never married to their respective partners.
“Jamela, on the other hand, may have committed at least 2 crimes with her actions – cyber libel and violation of data privacy. She cannot hide her actions under the guise of ‘moving on.’ Yes, she may have experienced pain and betrayal, but this does NOT give her the license to violate the law.
“Nemo jus sibi dicere potest.”
Ang “Nemo jus sibi dicere potest” ay isang Latin phrase na ang ibig sabihin ay, “No one can declare the law for themselves.”
Esplika ni Atty. Joji, “I’m not acting as a lawyer, ha, or their lawyer. It was just a personal legal opinion. Kasi ang dami na kasing talkies.
“It was my own. I just need to clarify, I don’t condone cheating. I have been a victim of cheating so I know what it’s like to be cheated upon.
“Masakit ‘yun! But the law is the law, ‘yun lang naman ‘yung point ko du’n, eh.
Some things which are morally wrong are not necessarily legally wrong.
“Now, the issue, meron pang mga legalities ‘yan pero ‘wag na lang nating i-discuss kasi I will go now into VAWC (Violence Against Women and their Children), into psychological,” paliwanag pa niya.
Rebelasyon pa ng producer ng “Espantaho”, “May nag-approach. I cannot divulge also what happened along the way. There were talks, I admit that. But I cannot give any details. My opinion was asked and I gave.”
Samantala, naikuwento rin ni Atty. Joji na isang legal drama sana ang plano nilang ilaban sa MMFF 2024 pero hindi nga ito natuloy at ang “Espantaho” nga ang napili nila bilang isa sa 10 entry ng MMFF.
Co-producer ng Quantum si Pandi, Bulacan Mayor Rico Roque ng Cineko Production at ang pag-aaring film company ni Judy Ann na Purple Bunny Productions.
“I offered to her (Juday), actually, kasi she’s produced before and I just thought that since ang laki naman ng contribution niya sa pelikula, baka lang sakali magka-interes din siya,” sabi ng abogada.
Napakalaki raw ng inilaang budget ng mga producer ng “Espantaho”. Ang original budget daw nila at P50 million para sa 18-day shoot, ngunit umabot sila ng 22 days.
Imagine, visual effects pa lang ng bagong horror-drama ni Direk Chito Roño ay nagkakahalaga na ng P10 million. Sey nga ni Atty. Joji, “Ang mahal na mag-produce ngayon.”
Kasama rin sa cast ng “Espantaho” na binigyan ng PG rating ng MTRCB, sina Lorna Tolentino, Chanda Romero, Janice de Belen, Mon Confiado, JC Santos, Nico Antonio, Donna Cariaga, Kian Co, Tommy Abuel, Archie Adamos at Eugene Domingo.
Showing na ang “Espantaho” sa lahat ng sinehan nationwide simula sa December 25.
