SM at TESDA, tungo sa lalong pagsulong ng edukasyon at trabaho

Pinagpatibay ng SM Supermalls ang kanilang pangako sa pagbibigay ng learning and upskilling opportunities sa mga Pilipino sa pagdiriwang ng ika-29 na anibersaryo ng Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), na ginanap sa SM Megamall Event Center noong Agosto 22.

Pinangunahan nina Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Secretary Suharto Mangudadatu (gitna) at SM Supermalls’ President Steven Tan (kanan) ang pagdiriwang ng ika-29 na anibersaryo ng TESDA sa SM Megamall. Kasama nila sina (mula sa kaliwa): TESDA Deputy Director General for TESD Operations Aniceto Bertiz III, Mandaluyong City Mayor Benjamin Abalos, Maguindanao Governor Mariam Mangudadatu, Nigerian Ambassador to the Philippines Her Excellency Folakemi Ibidunni Akinleye, at TESDA Deputy Director General for Policies at Planning Rosanna Urdaneta.

Nagplano ang TESDA ng mga aktibidad na nagbibigay-diin sa kahalagahan ng Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sa pagpapalakas ng socio-economic standing ng mga Pilipino, kabilang ang isang seminar tungkol sa labor education para sa mga magtatapos na mag-aaral at skills demonstration sa pagluluto, first aid para sa vehicular accidents, at smart farming.

Ang pagdiriwang ay alinsunod din sa Republic Act No. 7796 na nagdedeklara sa ika-25 ng Agosto bilang “National Technical-Vocational (Tech-Voc) Day,” kaya ginanap rin sa event ang job linking, TVET enrollment, at product displays at trade fairs mula sa iba’t ibang rehiyon sa buong bansa.

Cordillera Administrative Region ay ibinebenta sa TESDA trade fair.

Ang mga proyekto ng SM at TESDA ay nagbibigay ng mga bagong hanapbuhay sa mga Pilipino. Kabilang dito ang pagpapalawak ng Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan (KSK) Program na tumulong sa mga magsasaka, at ang SM Asensong Pinoy Program na nagbigay ng enterprise-based National Certificate (NC) II certification training.
