Cebuanang kandidata sa Bb. Pilipinas binatikos matapos mag-ala Sto. Niño sa national costume
KASALUKUYANG umaani ng batikos ang Bb Pilipinas candidate mula sa Cebu na si Joy Dacoron matapos nitong mag-ala Sto. Niño de Cebu para sa national costume ng beauty pageant.
Marami sa mga netizens lalo na ang mga mula sa religious communities ang nagpahayag ng kanilang pagka-disgusto sa ginawa ng dalaga.
Nitong Martes, May 17, ibinahagi ng Bb. Pilipinas sa kanilang Facebook page ang mga larawan ng mga kandidata suot-suot ang kanilang national costumes kasama na rin ang larawan ng Cebu candidate.
Ngunit ngayong araw ay tila tinanggal na ito sa kanilang page matapos makatanggap ng mga komento mula sa madlang pipol.
Samantala, ibinahagi naman ni Bb. Pilipinas Cebu candidate sa kanyang social media account ang mga larawan niya kung saan may suot-suot siyang pulang kapa, korona, scepter, at isang orb na makikitang kaparehas sa imahe ng Santo Niño de Cebu. Ang costume niya ay dinisenyo ni Chino Ledesma Christopherson.
Dito ay ipinaliwanag niya kung bakit ito ang napili niyang national coatume para sa naturang beauty pageant.
“My costume symbolizes unwavering faith and pays tribute to our province’s patron. The Senor Sto. Niño de Cebu is a source of inspiration and strength of numerous Catholic faithful. I am one of those,” pagbabahagi ng Bb. Pilipinas candidate.
“When I lost my father to an accident last year, I questioned God, “Ngano man, Lord? (Why, Lord?)” The Sto. Nino paved the way for me to shed off my doubts and made me realize that everything happens for a reason. In gratitude, I am sharing this faith to the national stage.
“Thus, with pride and deep respect for our heritage, I wear this costume that signifies faith and gratefulness. Viva! Pit Senyor!” dagdag pa niya.
Ayon sa Bb. Pilipinas candidate ay humingi siya ng permiso sa Archdiocese of Cebu ngunit ayon kay Cebu Auxiliary Bishop Ruben Labajo, ipinaalam lang ng team ng dalaga na gamitin ang simbahan bilang background.
“I have no idea that they will promote the vestments of the Holy Child as national costume, and especially the Augustinian priests also do not know about it,” saad ni Cebu Auxiliary Bishop Ruben Labajo sa pahayag na ipinadala niya sa mga reporters.
Ayon naman kay Fe Mantuhac-Barino, chairperson ng commission ng Archdiocese of Cebu, “Creativity should be guided by the Holy Spirit so the true beauty of God’s creation will come out.”
Pagpapatuloy niya, “It is important to respect culture and religion.”
Nagpaalala rin ang mga Augustinian Friars of the Basilica Minore Del Santo Niño De Cebu sa mga Katoliko na respetuhin ang Sto. Niño matapos mag-viral ang larawan ng Bb. Pilipinas candidate.
Samantala, ibabandera naman ng 40 kandidata ang kanilang national costumes ngayong Huwebes, sa New Frontier Theater.
Gaganapin naman ang Bb. Pilipinas grand coronation sa May 28 sa Smart Araneta Coliseum at ang magiging host at si Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray.
