In his recent interview with Julius Babao, Eruption made kuwento how he was told na hindi na kailangan ang kanyang services bilang host ng “It’s Showtime” dahil nag-reformat ang show.

But despite his getting the boot sa  “It’s Showtime” ay walang nasabing masama si Eruption. All he had in his heart is gratefulness dahil sa nagkaroon siya ng pangalan at nakilala dahil sa show.

I was like, ‘Uy, ba’t aakyat sa taas? Bihira kami dito sa taas.’ And then I had a feeling that something was going on and then sabi niya, ‘Pasenya na, Eric, na nagkaroon kami ng reformat and hindi na kailangan ‘yung full services mo dito.’

“I took it on the chin and I said, ‘Thank you.

“And I’ll always hold it to my heart na Showtime, maraming salamat. Direk Bobet (Vidanes), thank you so much. Vice (Ganda), everyone there, thank you; because I’m known as ‘Eruption’.

“And I have a name na. Dahil sa inyo, I have, I was able to get endorsement and my social media following jumped,” dagdag pa niya.

He recalled na nagdasal siya after he was told na wala na siya sa show.

“I remember going out of the elevator. I just said a prayer straight after. ‘Father, whatever you want me to do I’ll do. Help me find myself.’ ‘Yun lang.

“That’s all I asked for pero I knew that, for some reason, while I was driving home pa lang I have this sense of everything will gonna be okay,” sabi pa niya.

“I stopped the car. I was thinking, ‘what was I gonna tell my wife?’ ‘coz I know she might breakdown or anything.

“So, I said another prayer to help calm me down.

For him, parang blessing in disguise na nawala siya sa “It’s Showtime” dahil maraming  pumasok na show.

“And then the sense of, I hate to say it… happiness…everything’s gonna be good. I know work will gonna pick up. And it did.

“I got jobs front and center. Bumalik ako sa teleserye. Nag-Amazing Race kami. I know that I wouldn’t be able to do this kung nasa Showtime pa ako,” chika pa niya.

“So, it was the time that God told me, ‘you need to fly on your own, bro.’ Parang, ‘spread your wings, Eruption.
