Confrontation scene nina Ruffa at Isko bilang Imelda at Ninoy sa ‘Martyr or Murderer’ 3 oras kinunan
Bumida rito sina Cesar Montano bilang si dating Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos, Ruffa Gutierrez as Imelda Marcos, Diego Loyzaga as young Bongbong Marcos at Cristine Reyes bilang batang Imee Marcos.
Kuwento ni Ruffa, “It took us… how many hours, Direk?” Na sinagot naman ni Direk Darryl Yap ng, “That’s roughly three hours of shoot. Kasi Yorme is not here pero… sabi nga ni Yorme, kinalawang na daw siya, e. Since first movie niya ito in like a decade yata.”
Very! So, ang tagal kong naghintay because they don’t want to take it not unless they’re super prepared.
“So they talked muna, silang dalawa, to be very prepared. Then after that, minimal lang kami ng bago. Kasi yun nga, napapa-Taglish minsan si Ruffi.
“’Tapos, minsan si Yorme napapatingin sa kamera. Medyo hindi na sanay, ‘no? Medyo politiko si Yorme sa type na parang kinakausap niya yung camera and all.
“But you know, it’s really one of the highlights, yung pag-uusap ni Imelda at Ninoy in New York, 1983 before the assassination,” lahad ng kontrobersyal na direktor.
Esplika ni Direk Darryl, “I don’t have any knowledge when it comes to corporate or the technicality of the posters.
“I was talking to Nanay Oro (Elizabeth Oropesa) during the time, during Maid in Malacañang.
So du’n ko nalaman. I was talking to Viva and they said, ‘Ah, you know, there is a billing,’ and something like that.
“I’m not very particular when it comes to billing. You know what, if I’m particular in billing, e di pinakamalaki pangalan ko diyan. Ang ano ko lang po, maybe it’s a business decision. Maybe Viva already talked to Yorme.
“Because when we are casting Ninoy, just like when we are casting the young Imelda, we were given a very short period of time.
“I was thinking of casting Bistek or Herbert, you know to make Ruffa happy. So ngayon, the real kuwento why I opted to do…you know what, I’m gonna be very honest, but I really wanted to cast Sir Phillip Salvador to be Ninoy.
“But you know, the schedule, the physique, the looks, it’s not really the Ninoy type.
“So I was asking Senator Imee’s approval, and Senator Imee said to me, ‘I don’t want to meddle when it comes to choosing who the Ninoy is, because I don’t have any power. When it comes to casting, it will be Viva.’
“So I asked my bosses kung sino ang puwedeng i-cast. I have a lot of actors (in mind), I want to work with Christopher de Leon. I want to work with those people who played Ninoy before, even in Eskapo, you know.
“They have Goma (Richard Gomez). They have a lot, a lot. But when I’m hearing the interviews and the videos of former Senator Ninoy – the eloquence, the fluency in both Filipino and English, the kind of appeal that only Ninoy and Ferdinand na sila lang ang meron.
“I think the only actor-politician that can you know be a good match to Cesar Montano is Isko Moreno. And I don’t think even putting Isko’s name at the bottom of the poster will not do justice because Isko is shining in this movie,” mahabang paliwanag ng direktor.
