“We are delighted to announce that we were able to reach our target gross sales amounting to P501-million considering that we are still recovering from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Indeed, the 2022 MMFF is a certified box-office hit,” ang pahayag ni MMDA at MMFF Over-all Chairman Atty. Romando Artes.
With the theme “Balik Saya,” all the eight films were shown in cinemas nationwide from December 25, 2022 up to January 7, 2023, and now being extended until January 13, 2023.
Ibinahagi rin ni Artes ang Top 4 MMFF 2022 official entries, base na rin sa gross sales receipts (in alphabetical order) — yan ang “Deleter”, “Family Matters”, “Labyu with an Accent” at “Partners in Crime.”
“Rest assured that the MMFF will exert all efforts by encouraging our stakeholders, especially the local entertainment industry, to create quality films. I urge each and every one of you to patronize Filipino films,” pahayag pa ng MMDA executive.
Ginanap naman ang 2022 MMFF Awards Night noong December 27, 2022 sa New Frontier Theater, Quezon City, kung saan itinanghal na Best Picture ang “Deleter” at Best Director naman si Mikhail Red.
Waging Best Actress si Nadine Lustre para sa “Deleter” at Best Actor naman si Ian Veneracion for “Nanahimik Ang Gabi.” Best Supporting Actress si Dimples Romana para sa “My Father, Myself” at Best Supporting Actor” naman si Mon Confiado for “Nanahimik Ang Gabi.”
Samantala, in-announce na rin ng MMDA ang kauna-unahang Metro Manila Summer Film Festival sa Abril, in partnership with Cinema Exhibitors Association of the Philippines (CEAP).
“We will release the deadline of submission of entries as early as we can so that interested producers and filmmakers may be guided accordingly,” ani Artes.
