"On The Job" ni Erik Matti lalaban sa Emmy Awards; napili ring official entry ng Pinas sa Oscars

BONGGA! Tuhog kung tuhog ang swerteng natanggap ng award-winning filmmaker na si Erik Matti para sa kanyang suspense-crime-thriller na “On The Job.”
Napili ang “OTJ: The Missing 8″ ng Reality Entertainment bilang entry ng Pilipinas para sa Best International Feature sa 95th Academy Awards o Oscars ngayong taon.
Ang 2021 6-part mini-series namang version nito ay lalaban para sa Best TV Movie/Mini-Series sa gaganaping 50th International Emmy Awards. Makakalaban nito ang iba pang official entry mula sa Chile, France, at UK.

Umiikot ang kuwento ng “On the Job” sa mga sindikato na pinamumunuan at pinoproteksyunan ng mga kilalang politiko. Sa pamamagitan ng pagpapalaya sa mga bilanggo, napapatay nila ang kanilang mga kalaban sa mga ilegal na gawain.
Samantala, ang “The Missing 8″ naman na sequel ng “On the Job,” ay lalaban para sa Best International Feature sa 95th Academy Awards.
Ito ang ibinandera ng Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) at ng Directors Guild of the Philippines, Inc. (DGPI) sa closing ceremonies ng Philippines Film Month.
Sa proyekto ring ito nakuha ni John Arcilla Volpi Cup award bilang Best Actor sa 78th Venice International Film Festival.
“It’s overwhelming! Sobrang saya ko talaga. Sabi nga nila, ‘When it rains it pours,’” ang pahayag ng isa sa mga bida na si John Arcilla sa panayam ng ABS-CBN.
“Sana mas lumakas pa loob natin at dumami ang financial support para tulungan tayong makapasok talaga sa Oscars. Sana lang marami pa tayong makuhang resources and influencers sa international media para mapaingay ang pelikula,” dagdag pa ng award-winning actor.
Sey naman ng producer ng pelikula na si Dondon Monteverde, “Maraming salamat sa mga jury sa selection committee, no?Nagpapasalamat kami sa trust nila, di ba? Ang business partner ko, si Direk Erik Matti, it’s been a decade journey trying to advocate Filipino ingenuity abroad talaga, no? So until now, tuluy-tuloy ang journey.”
Nitong nagdaang Biyernes, September 30, nagpasalamat si Direk Erik sa panibagong blessing sa kanyang career kalakip ang screenshot photo ng natanggap na nominasyon sa Emmys.
Aniya sa caption, “Tons of entries make their way to the Emmy’s each year. Great stories and well-made productions waiting to be considered.
“In the age of streaming, the competition is is stiff. Who would have thought that a limited series like #OnTheJob from a small country in the Pacific would be recognized alongside some big titles from the UK, Chile, and France?”
“It is our honor, Emmy’s. Congratulations, Pinas!” aniya pa.
Bukod kay John Arcilla, kasama rin sa “On The Job” sina Dennis Trillo, Piolo Pascual, Christopher De Leon, Joel Torre, Gerald Anderson at marami pang iba.
Magaganap ang awarding ceremony sa November 21, sa New York City.
