SI Pia Wurtzbach ang itinuturing na “ultimate favorite” beauty queen ni Miss Universe Philippines 2022 Celeste Cortesi.
Sa lahat daw ng beauty queens, ang actress-TV host at kinoronahang Miss Universe noong 2015 ang pinakapaborito niya at naging inspirasyon sa pag-abot sa kanyang ultimate dream — ang maiuwi rin Miss Universe title and crown sa Pilipinas.
Ito ang naging rebelasyon ni Celeste sa kauna-unahan niyang vlog sa YouTube na may titulong “Get To Know Me… More!!!” na in-upload last July 15.
Dito, isa-isang sinagot ni Celeste ang ilang katanungan mula sa kanyang supporters at social media followers at isa na nga riyan ang question na, “Beauty queen you look up to (Filipino or Non-Filipina)?”
Tugon ng Filipino-Italian beauty queen, “I would say Pia Wurtzbach, like, she’s my ultimate favorite.”

“I told this story so many times, but I remember in 2015, when she won, I was living in Italy and I didn’t know anything about pageantry.
“And my mom was going crazy because the Philippines won, Pia Wurtzbach won. She came into my room with a photo of Pia Wurtzbach,” chika niya.
Bilib na bilib daw si Celeste sa pagrampa ni Pia sa Miss Universe 2015, “And that was the time I got very interested in joining pageants, just because I saw her performance.
“I was just so amazed at the overall performance of Pia. And she really inspired me in joining beauty pageants. At the time, seven years ago, I still didn’t know what I wanna do in my life.
“So, that was the time that I actually said for the first time, ‘I wanna go to the Philippines and represent the Philippines in Miss Universe.’
“But it was just, like, a random thought, and then look at me now, I am doing it,” lahad ni Celeste.
Nang sabihan daw siya ng kapatid niyang babae na paano siya magiging Miss Universe kung hindi siya marunong mag-English ay agad daw siyang nag-aral.
Mahirap daw sa simula dahil nga nasanay na siya sa Italian at ito ang first language niya pero talagang kinarir niya ang pagpa-practice sa tulong na rin ng Google translate.
“I was really hard, of course, the first few months, like, you cannot communicate with people. It’s really, really hard.
“But then, after a few months, maybe six months or even a year, I was able to talk, to have a conversation, and it just was all natural to me to speak English,” sey ni Celeste.
Kuwento pa ng dalaga sa kanyang vlog, bago siya itinanghal na Miss Universe Philippines 2022, naging representative muna siya ng Pilipinas sa Miss Earth 2018 na ginanap sa Pilipinas kung saan umabot siya sa Top 8 ng pageant.
