DUMAAN muna kay Megastar Sharon Cuneta ang international movie ng kanyang anak na si KC Concepcion bago ito tinanggap ng singer-actress.
Natapos na ni KC ang shooting para sa “Asian Persuasion” na kinunan sa New York at iba pang lugar sa Amerika. Ito ang magsisilbing comeback movie ng dalaga makalipas ang halos isang dekada.
Ayon kay Sharon, unang idinaan sa kanya ang nasabing project, “Sa akin dumaan yun. Kasi Jhett Tolentino, who is a Grammy and Tony award-winning producer, offered me also a movie before kaya lang we had trouble finding people to finance it because he wanted me to star with A-list American actors.
“And it was so hard pero beautiful sana yung concept. And then he came up with this project na siya na yung magdi-direct.
“I think alam na nu’ng tao na si Toni Gonzaga couldn’t do it because of her schedule. So sabi niya, ‘I’d like to talk to KC.’ Sabi ko, ‘Oo, this is how you get in touch.’
“Sabi niya, ‘Baka hindi ako pansinin?’ I said, ‘No, no, no. I’ll message her to wait for your message and then you message her.’
“So nag-usap na sila. KC is a full-fledged adult. She makes decisions on her own and obviously she accepted it and I’m very happy for her. She’s in good hands,” pahayag ni Mega.

Kasunod nito, masaya ring ibinalita ni Mega ang tungkol sa kanyang international project na may titulong “Concepcion” kung saan gaganap siya bilang “matriarch of a mob family.”
“It’s a series sa TV, They’re pitching it now. That will come later. Hindi ako ang producer nu’n. Kinukuha lang ako.
“Kasi Concepcion is the family name. Concepcion ang title, hindi ako yung pumili nu’n. It’s also backed by the makers of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
“It stars mga great Filipino actors there including one who was in John Wick 2 or 3. He’s part Filipino. It’s about a Filipino crime family based in America.
“Filipino-American crime family and my role, if it pushes through, will be that of the matriarch. Parang Sopranos na hindi. Ha-hahaha! Ang talagang boss yung asawa ko,” ani Mega.
Samantala, ibinalita nga ni KC sa madlang pipol na natapos na nga niya ang shooting ng kanyang international movie na “Asian Persuasion.”
Ibinahagi ng singer-actress at TV host sa kanyang Instagram last May 19, 2022 ang kanyang mga litrato na kuha sa New York City kung saan nga kinunan ang kanyang comeback movie.
“After 2 months of living and working in NYC, we finally wrapped our film @asianpersuasionfilm!!! Excited for you guys to see it!” ang caption ni KC sa kanyang IG post.
Makakatambal niya rito ang Filipino-American actor na si Dante Basco na gaganap bilang kanyang ex-husband.
Ayon sa Variety, ang kuwento ng “Asian Persuasion”, “is about a down-on-his-luck chef who cooks up a crazy scheme to marry off his ex-wife in an attempt to avoid his substantial alimony obligations.”
Ang iba pang sikat na Filipino personalities na ka-join sa nasabing pelikula ay ang Black Eyed Peas frontman na si Apl.de.Ap, Yam Concepcion, Rachel Alejandro, Rex Navarrete, at Tony Labrusca. Ito ay directorial debut ni Tony Award-winning producer na si Jhett Tolentino.
