Socmed influencer Francis Marcos kinampihan ng Comelec, tuloy ang pagtakbong senador

NATATANDAAN n’yo ba ang controversial influencer na si Francis Leo Marcos na nag-file ng certificate of candidacy last October para sa pagtakbo niyang senador sa May, 2022?
Si Marcos o mas kilala bilang si FLM ay naging kontrobersyal noon at biglang sumikat sa social media dahil sa pamimigay ng bigas at pera sa kanyang followers sa kanyang Facebook Live.
May nagsampa kasi ng petisyon sa Commission on Elections (Comelec) laban kay Marcos o FLM bilang isang “nuisance candidate” dahil mukhang hindi naman daw ito seryoso sa pagsabak niya sa politiko.
“On 13 October 2021, the Law Department of the Commission filed the instant Petition alleging that Respondent filed the COC to put the election process in mockery or disrepute, and as gleaned from the said act or circumstance, he has no bona fide intention to run for Senator.
“Specifically, the Law Department essentially asserted that Respondent is not virtually known to the entire country and has no means to launch a nationwide campaign.
“He neither has support from a political party or a nationwide network or organization of supporters.
“Respondent likewise does not appear to be personally capable of persuading a substantial number of voters from different parts of the country,” ang bahagi ng nasabing petisyon.
Ang update tungkol dito, naglabas na ng resolusyon ang Comelec Commission tungkol sa petisyon na dapat ideklarang “nuisance candidate” si Marcos.
“Denied” ang ibinigay na hatol ng Comelec sa petisyon na inihain ng Law Department (ng Comelec) para i-disqualify ang nasabing socmed personality sa pagtakbong senador.
Natanggap ang nasabing resolusyon ng Legal counsel chief ni FLM na si Atty. Jonie Caroche-Vestido.
Kung matatandaan, noong Oct. 8 nag-file ng COC si FLM para sa pagkasenador sa pamamagitan ni Atty. Caroche-Vestido. Ang inilagay niya sa kanyang COC ay isang independent candidate at “businessman” bilang kanyang profession.
