Mr. M tinanggap ang hamon ng GMA; gustong makatrabaho sina Alden, Dingdong, Marian at Heart
OPISYAL nang Kapuso ang dating star builder at head ng ABS-CBN Star Magic na si Johnny Manahan o mas kilala sa mundo ng entertainment industry na si Mr. M.
Ibinandera ng GMA Network ngayong araw ang paglipat ng TV executive sa Kapuso station sa pamamagitan ng isang virtual presscon matapos ang ginanap na online contract signing.
Ayon kay Mr. M, maituturing ding homecoming ang paglipat niya sa GMA dahil hindi naman siya talaga baguhan sa GMA.
“I’m very happy that Atty, (Felipe) Gozon and the rest of the executives have given me this chance and opportunity to work with GMA 7 and become a Kapuso. This is like a homecoming of sorts and I’m very proud,” pahayag ng iconic director.
Sa tanong kung ano talaga ang mission niya ngayong nasa bakuran na siya ng GMA, “Ang main aim is to develop a new breed of GMA artists. Kung ano pa ‘yung kulang sa kanila, we hope to develop that and give them a brighter shine. So abangan niyo, mga Kapuso.
“Maybe in six or seven months meron na kaming bagong mga artista sa GMA, and to the other artists who have been there a long time, I think I can learn from them, and I hope they can learn from us, also,” paliwanag pa niya.
Bilang consultant ng GMA Artist Center, looking forward na si Mr. M sa mga nakatakda niyang gawing proyekto para sa mga promising Kapuso stars na inaasahang gagawa ng malaking pangalan at magmamarka sa mundo ng telebisyon at pelikula.
“Actually, there are a lot of artists in their rosters whom I’ve seen the work. I hope I can, first of all, talk to them through Zoom and then maybe one day, meet them in the flesh,” aniya kung saan nabanggit nga niya ang Asia’s Multimedia Star na si Alden Richards na napapanood ngayon sa primetime series na “The World Between Us.”
“People like Alden, yeah, we’ve worked with him before he did the movie with Kathryn Bernardo (Hello, Love, Goodbye). He’s a very nice boy, very capable,” papuri pa ni Mr. M kay Alden.
Bukod sa Kapuso Drama Prince, gusto ring makatrabaho ni Mr. M sina Kapuso Primetime King and Queen Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera.
“And of course, si Mr. (Dingdong) Dantes, and his wife, Marian. I’d like to meet her. And Heart Evangelista, I think she’s our permanent artist, our permanent baby. Wherever we go, somehow we get a phone call from her or a card,” aniya pa.
Halos 50 years na si Mr. M sa showbiz at excited na siya sa bagong yugto ng kanyang career sa GMA. Dati siyang chairman emeritus ng Star Magic at umalis nga ng ABS-CBN last year.
