Nadine tuloy ang concert para sa mga Golden Gays, drag queens: You are loved and valued!
TULOY na tuloy ang virtual concert ng actress-singer at dancer na si Nadine Lustre na kanyang iniaalay para sa drag community at mga nakatatandang beki.
Titled, “Nadine, Together With Us”, ang kikitain nito ay ilalaan sa pagtulong at pagsuporta sa mga nangangailangang drag artists at miyembro ng elderly gay community.
Makakasama ni Nadine sa nasabing benefit concert ang ilang kilalang miyembro ng drag community na grabe ring naapektuhan ng COVID-19 pandemic matapos ngang tumigil sa operasyon ang mga performance venues sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng bansa.
Ilan sa inaasahang magpe-perform sa virtual concert ni Nadine ang mga sikat na Filipino drag queens na sina Vinas DeLuxe, Lady Gagita, at Andy Crocker.
“I have always admired drag queens and the level of artistry that they put into every look and act.
“It’s an art that only drag queens can pull off, so to lose them in the scene is also to lose a unique art form,” sey ni Nadine sa isang panayam na isang proud supporter ng LGBTQIA+ community.
Aniya pa, “I am very proud to be part of a cause and help amplify the voices of our queer community. To all members of the LGBTQIA+ community, I want you to know that you are loved and valued.”
Ang kikitain ng show ay ibabahagi sa Home for the Golden Gays Foundation, isang non-profit organization na kumakalinga sa mga matatandang miyembro ng gay community.
Sa pagkakaalam namin, ito ay itinayo noon pang 1970 sa pamumuno ng LGBTQIA+ rights activist na si Justo Justo.
“The Golden Gays were our forerunners. Many of them were already doing drag even before it became mainstream.
“They were also one of the first organizations to stand and speak up for our rights. So when we found out that this concert is also to raise funds for them, we immediately got on board,” pahayag naman ni Vinas DeLuxe sa isang interview.
“We want to raise awareness that this pandemic has also affected two vulnerable sectors of society––the elderly and LGBTQIA+ community. And with the Golden Gays, these two sectors intersect,” aniya pa.
