Publiko binalaan laban sa mga pekeng PDEA agent

pdeaNagbabala ang Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) sa publiko laban sa ilang indibidwal na nagpapanggap bilang ahente ng ahensya.

Kasunod ito ng pagkamatay ng dalawang suspek na sangkot umano sa kidnap for ransom activities sa shootout sa Botolan, Zambales.

“The slain suspects reportedly belonged to the same group of men and women who wore PDEA uniforms rushing to arrest a man in Ususan, Taguig last February 4, 2018. The incident was caught in CCTV footage,” PDEA Director General Wilkins Villanueva.

Hindi ito ang unang pagkakataon na ginamit ang uniporme ng PDEA para sa ilegal na aktibidad.

Masasampahan ng kaso sa ilalim ng Revised Penal Code ang hindi awtorisadong pagsusuot ng uniporme o insignia ng PDEA.

Sinabi ni Villanueva na sinusunod ng PDEA ang standard operating procedures sa pagsasagawa ng mga lehitimong anti-drug operation.

“Our operations are always coordinated with the local police and the conduct of search operations are always armed with search warrants issued by court,” pahayag nito.

Hinikayat nito ang publiko na maging mapagmatyag at i-report agad sa PDEA ang mga kahalintulad na insidente.

“I encourage the public to be vigilant and report to PDEA any similar incidents involving suspicious individuals masquerading as PDEA agents,” ani Villanueva.
