“I finished 6 deliveries this Valentine’s Day. But on an average, delivery riders accomplish around 8-10 transactions on good days like this one,” simulang mensahe ni Dingdong.
Pagpapatuloy niya, “I started at 9:30am and ended before 3pm, and as I sit here at home waiting for early dinner, I realize how difficult this job is.
“There are so many factors to consider: heat, dehydration, heavy traffic, wrong addresses – which can cause panic and delays, customer’s temperament, plus the danger of getting into accidents especially if you have not been properly trained,” aniya pa.
“Maybe it’s because of their clear ‘why’ and strong motivation.
“That’s why i will never get tired of my mission of professionalizing this industry, especially for those who want to be successful in this field,” aniya pa.
Ayon sa website nito, “DingDong was born as a business idea when Dong Dantes personally delivered a flower arrangement with utmost care for his wife Marian’s flower shop.
“The idea was shelved until the COVID pandemic hit and in its wake deprived many of their livelihoods. DingDong was founded in the midst of a pandemic on the premise that it would help build better lives, families, and communities by providing quality work, goods, and services.”
Sabi naman ni Dingdong sa isang panayam, “I have personally witnessed how the COVID-19 crisis affected our work in the entertainment industry, and how home-based businesses cope with and even thrive on it.
“These challenges and opportunities made the initiative and partnership imperative and timely. Building the platform became a cause bigger than ourselves.”
