Pag-upo ni Biden sa White House walang epekto sa telco players sa Pilipinas

Walang malaking epekto sa mga telecommunication players sa Pilipinas ang nakatakdang pag-upo ni President-elect Joe Biden sa White House.

Para sa top official ng Dito Telecommunity, ang third telco sa bansa na kasyosyo ang China Telecom, huli na para baguhin pa ang direksyon ng industriya ng telecom sa bansa na nakaangkla sa Chinese network gear at technology.

“Adoption of Chinese tech has been on the rise since over five years ago, with clear demonstrated advantage in 4G LTE tech and now in 5G, both in network elements and smart handset space,” wika ni Ernesto Alberto, presidente ng Dito CME Holdings, sa panayam ng  Inquirer.

Ang Dito CME Holdings ay ang holding company ng DitoTel, na sinusuportahan din ng China Telecom.

Sinabi ni Alberto, dating No. 2 executive sa PLDT,  na ang mga  sanctions na resulta ng alitan sa kalakalan sa pagitan ng China at US ay wala rin sa kanilang prayoridad ngayong panahon ng pandemya.

“The continuing global pandemic is still of primary concern by all and will put a possible US economic sanction coalition versus China to the backseat,” ayon kay Alberto.

Ang PLDT at Globe ay kapwa nagsabing mataas ang kalidad at mura ang teknolohiyang nanggagaling sa Huawei.
