Pag-aresto sa mga sumali sa Pride March kinondena
KINONDENA ng mga kongresista ang pag-aresto sa 20 katao na sumali sa Pride March sa Maynila kanina.
Ayon kay Gabriela Rep. Arlene Brosas kabilang sa inaresto ang legislative staff nito na si Chriztina Madlangbayan na in-charge sa LGBTQ+ issues.
“We insist that there is now law prohibiting public assemblies during the implementation of the community quarantine. The constitutional right to peaceful assembly is not suspended even amid a health emergency,” ani Brosas.
Iginiit naman ni Bayan Muna Rep. Eufemia Cullamat na mapayapa ang ginagawang protesta kaya hindi dapat naging marahas ang pagbuwag sa kanilang hanay.
“Mapayapa ang protesta at sinunod ang mga heath protocol. Namigay pa nga ng libreng mask at face shield. Walang basehan ang pag aresto sa kanila, nag-expire na ang BAHO Law. Hindi nila nirespeto ang karapatan para mag protesta lalo na sa hanay ng LGBTQ+ na gusto lang ipaglaban ang kanilang karapatan na kilalanin at irespeto bilang tao,” ani Culllamat.
Ang Pride March ay isinasagawa upang igiit ang pagbibigay ng pantay na karapatan sa mga miyembro ng LGBTQ+.
