Sad reality: Goodbye 13th month pay, other bonuses!

Alan Tanjusay - June 07, 2020 - 12:35 PM

TILA may-ari ng mga negosyo at mistulang mga negosyante ang ilang mga officials ng Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

Biruin ninyo naman, naglabas ang DOLE ng Labor Advisory 17 na pwede nang mag-voluntary agree ang employer at employee to reduce wage and benefits of employees to allow the business to recover from crisis brought by COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns.

Kung kaya ang aktwal na nangyayari ngayon, malawakang binabawasan ng mga employers ang suweldo ng mga manggagawa at hindi na sinusunod ang “agreement of employer and employee” na requirement ng policy before it is implemented.

Pati mga benepisyo na dati nang tinatanggap gaya ng 13th month pay, performance bonus, incentive bonus, clothing and uniform allowance, laundry, rice and load allowance ligwak din.

Malamang pati Christmas bonus, year-end bonus, team building, Christmas party and company outing yayariin din.

Kahit na magreklamo ka o mag-file ng complaint, walang kakausap sa iyo sa mga DOLE conciliation and mediation proceedings dahil sinuspinde ng DOLE ang lahat ng mga proseso ng mga reklamo by DOLE Department Order 213 suspending these processes.

At kung magsumbong ka ng mga labor violations and abuses ng employer mo by asking the department to conduct an immediate labor inspection in the workplace, walang inspection na magaganap dahil suspendido din ang inspection activities as stated in D.O 213.

Ang masaklap nito, naglalabas pa ng utos ang DOLE ng advisory maya’t-maya na dini-defer o ini-exempt ang employer from paying premium pay while working during holidays. Wow!

Kung kaya say goodbye ka na sa pagtaas ng sahod. Paalam ka na rin sa mga bonuses at 13th month pay courtesy of our Department of Employers!
