28% lang ng 47k public schools ang may clinic
TANGING 28 porsyento lamang ng 47,013 public school sa bansa ang may sariling clinic.
Ito ang sinabi ni Education Undersecretary for Administration Alain Del Pascua sa virtual hearing ng House committee on basic education.
“Ang bawat clinic na kasing-laki ng isang classroom ay nagkakahalaga ng P2.5 million. Maaari din natin i-convert ang isang unused classroom sa halagang P450,000. Aabot mula P15.27 billion hanggang P84.83 billion ang kakailanganing pondo para dito,” ani del Pascua.
At kung makapagtatayo ng mga clinic mahalaga umano na dapat maglaan din ng budget na pambili ng mga kagamitan na kailangan upang makapag-operate ang mga ito.
Inaprubahan ni Pasig City Rep. Roman Romulo, chairman ng komite, ang pag-consolidate sa tatlong panukala—House Bill 821, 3228, at 4232— upang makapagtayo ng mga clinic sa pampublikong paaralan.
“It is imperative that we take the necessary and appropriate precautions to ensure the safety of students in the midst of this COVID pandemic,” ani House Deputy Speaker Aurelio Gonzales Jr., isa sa may-akda ng panukala.
Sinabi ni Del Pascua na suportado ng ahensya ang panukala.
“We support [the bills] especially during this time of the COVID-19 pandemic. We will be needing these schools not only to store our equipment and emergency response kits but also to house our medical and nursing officers,” saad ng kinatawan ng DepEd.
