Meralco inireklamo sa paniningil ng P47 sa online payment

KINUWESTYON ng isang consumer group ang paniningil umano ng Manila Electric Company ng P47 sa mga kustomer na nagbabayad online.
Nagpadala ng reklamo ang National Association of Electricity Consumers for Reforms Inc., na pirmado ng pangulo nito na si Pete Ilagan sa Energy Regulatory Commission kaugnay ng dagdag na singil ng Meralco sa mga kustomer na nais magbayad ng kuryente.
Sinabi ng Nasecor na hinihikayat ng Meralco ang mga kustomer nito na magbayad online para maiwasan ang siksikan sa mga tanggapan nito pero sinisingil naman nila ito ng P47.
“It is our position that Meralco, as a regulated and franchised utility, cannot just, on its own, impose such fee (P47) on its captive customers. Rather, said P47 fee should have been a subject of an application with the Commission and of a public hearing.”
Ayon sa Nasecor ang Meralco ay guilty sa “abuse of market power” na isang seryosong paglabag.
