Scientists, doktor di sigurado… Covid-19 naikakalat nga ba ng utot?

INANUNSYO ng Center for Disease Control sa US na nagpositibo sa virus ang dumi ng mga tao na tinamaan ng Covid-19, pero wala pang naiulat na nagkaroon ng sakit dahil dito.

Ginawa ng CDC ang paglilinaw kasunod ng mga ulat na maaaring kumalat ang nakamamatay na sakit sa pag-utot.

Nagbabala kamakailan ang isang Dr. Norman Swan ng Australia na huwag uutot kung nakahubo ang isang nahawahan ng Covid-19 dahil maaaring lumipad sa hangin ang mga “butil” ng dumi na may impeksyon at malanghap ng mga katabi.

“I think that what we should do in terms of social distancing and being safe is that … you don’t fart close to other people, and that you don’t fart with your bottom bare,” suhestiyon ni Swan.

Dagdag niya, siguraduhin na naka-underwear at shorts o nakadamit Kung uutot.

Base umano sa pag-aaral, malaking porsyento ng mga pasyente na may Covid-19 ay may sintomas ng pananakit ng tiyan at pagdudumi.

Ayon sa website ng CDC: “It’s unclear whether the virus found in feces may be capable of causing COVID-19, (but) there hasn’t been any confirmed report of the virus spreading from feces to a person.”

“Scientists also do not know how much risk there is that the virus could be spread from the feces of an infected person to another person,” dagdag ng CDC. “However, they think this risk is low based on data from previous outbreaks of diseases caused by related coronaviruses, such as severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) and Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS).”

Wala pa rin umanong natatanggap na ulat ang World Health Organization kaugnay sa “fecal-oral transmission” ng Covid-19.
